What girl hasn't hesitated to hydrate herself sufficiently before embarking on a big climbing route, a mountaineering race, or a ski touring outing, for fear of not being able to pee without a hitch?
Using a marinette to Urinate High Up
It looks like a small gutter weighing barely 17 grams, about twenty centimeters long, and is very easy to use. Simply open your fly and pull your pants down a little at the front. Then, pull your panties aside, place the marinette between your legs, pressing it against your vulva. Point the tip downward and relax. The food-grade polypropylene material doesn't hurt, and the edges allow you to remove "the little drop" when you remove it. It is water-repellent, so you can rinse it with a little water, or simply shake it and store it in its case until better conditions. You can therefore urinate very easily, standing up, and without removing your harness. It is reusable, durable, unbreakable, and recyclable. Free from allergens and endocrine disruptors, the marinette is made in France !
Female climbers are won over
Frankly, this accessory is fantastic, and although it's been around for a long time, I realize that a large majority of my climbing friends had never tried it. Since then, I've converted them all, and the marinette has become as indispensable as a headlamp for our outdoor outings. Plus, it's super light and compact.
See you at the Climbing Show on January 11 and 12, 2025
Now we're just waiting for textile professionals to think about adding a crotch opening to our hiking and other outdoor sports pants. In the meantime, whether traveling to the ends of the earth in disreputable restrooms or on a big wall, the marinette will be your best ally. Come discover it at the Climbing Show being held in Paris at the Porte de Versailles on January 11 and 12, 2025. I'll be there and can give you all the details!
